Stephen Hawking is one of the most intelligent men on the planet.  I have heard "geniuses are born-not made" and I somewhat believe that.  You hear of the genius that as a child was walking and talking in complete sentences before age 1 and could read at a 4th grade level or higher by age 3.  No one made this child "smart", it just "happens".  I do believe that something about their brains process information much differently then the rest of us and they are able to access lots of information in minute details.  Everyone has lots of information in their brains, its accessing it that us average folks have problems with.
