Question:

Was that cop trying to bait me?

First let me say, we all have little quirks or odd things that we do. That being said,.....

I was walking down my suburban street today when I saw an approaching police car. This car looked to be a city police car, I live 4-5 miles ouitside the actual city. The odd thing I do is when I see a cop car out of said jurisdiction I usually say," you lost?" It is generally just in passing as a rhetorical question. Today I said it out loud to myself in just a normal tone of voice as I was still walking.

I minute later the cop turned around, come up along side me and asked in a suspect tone " where you trying to say something to me?" "Is there something you need me for?"

That struck me as strange. If I were trying to get his attention, I would have probably waved my arm. And after all this the cop in question was a transit cop!

Is it just me? OR Does this seem a bit strange? Was he looking for me to "give him a reason?"
