Jason Bay has been sick recently so has Manny. I'm from Boston and was wondering what you might think. Was the trade good?

  1. It was better for the Red Sox-they received a good young player. Ramirez-will be a HOF and he is second to none in driving in runs-but he was dogging it and that is inexcusable. Francona and the Red Sox braintrust did well to get rid of Ramirez. Could you even imagine Michael Jordan even thinking about dogging it for an instant? I've lost all respect for Ramirez and any player who doesn't hustle on all plays-everytime-and there are a lot of them out there. I'm a Cubs fan and the Cubs have a couple. The Red Sox have ridden their locker room of an unpredictable malcontent who dogged it recently. Good move Red Sox!

  2. I don't care for either of those teams, but as a baseball fan, so far, so good for both players and both teams.

  3. Speaking as a Yankee fan, yes, it was a great trade!

  4. it was an amazing trade for both of those teams man ram has been inhumanly great for the Dodgers and Jason Bay is making a great impact on the Sox even the Pirates got some pretty good prospects out of the deal

  5. good for all 3 teams

  6. RED SOX POINT OF VIEW:

Hansen and Moss were decent at best, and Hansen is in his 3rd year in the league so he's not a prospect. We needed to get rid of Manny, and we got Bay in return, so I think we're in a better position than we were before because now everyone in our clubhouse will actually have some work ethic and a h**l of a lot of chemistry. Bay should fit in well here because he is a guy who works his *** off for his team and that's just the type of guy we needed instead of Manny. Don't worry about Moss and Hansen, we recently replaced Hansen in the bullpen with Masterson and Moss was our 4th outfielder anyway.

Trade Grade: A (We needed to respect Manny and trade him away, and Bay was just as good as a replacement as we could get)

    DODGERS POINT OF VIEW:

We just gave up 2 half decent guys and we got a Hall of Famer. The DBacks did not make any moves, but we did and we got Manny. We have been just 1 game behind them for a really long time, and Manny is definitely the guy we needed to put us over the top for the division. I'm glad the trade was so late because it gave the DBacks NO time to make a move like we did, so we have a huge advantage for the division with 2 months left. Joe Torre should do a great job with Manny in keeping him a hard worker, and Manny should no longer act the way he has these last couple weeks with Boston.

Trade Grade: A (If we sign him next year), B (If we don't)

    PIRATES POINT OF VIEW:

We used to have one of the best outfields in the league, but we just gave away Jason Bay, and now we're probably just going to play even worse for the rest of the season. We managed to get 4 young guys who can hopefully develop along with a lot of other players on our team, and in 4 or 5 years we may be the strongest team in the NL Central if everything goes right. I'm sad we lost Bay but we need to star planning ahead because keeping Bay clearly wasn't going to win us anything any time soon.

    Trade Grade: A (Thinking ahead)

Overall Trade Grade: A+ (Each team got exactly what they were looking for [Pirates - prospects; Dodgers - a power hitter; Red Sox - a power hitting left fielder to replace Manny] )

  7. Yes and No. The sox got rid of a future HOF player but got a decent player in the trade. I think if anything it built up the clubhouse and made it a better place, but it will hurt their lineup in the long run without manny hitting behind ortiz, now pitchers can walk ortiz and not really have to worry about giving up a 2 run homer. But i liked the trade because manny kills the yanks and hopefully next year he will be in pinstripes.

  8. For the Dodgers and Red Sox it has...

  9. Manny will take us to the playoffs. MannyWood!!!

  10. Yes it was!!!

  11. it was one of the best deals the dodgers have done all year getting somebody that can hit in their lineup finally and the  redsox get somebody that can play defense in jason bay

the pirates part in it gave them some prospects but no immediate help
