Was the Pacquiao-Marquez fight robbed?

Anybody thought it should have been at least a draw? Marquez, in my opinion, had landed way more shots although Pac landed the more powerful blows.

  1. This was a close fight. I thought JMM was a lot stronger now than when he fought Barrera and I know Manny felt his power. I seriously thought the fight could have gone either way, even Manny didnt think he won the fight by the way he walk towards the JMM right before they announced the third score card. JMM landed more solid shots as evident by Manny's right eye, but Manny landed the hardest punches, thanks to the left hand. I had the fight 6-6 with Manny winning with the extra point. I thought Manny should have finished the fight during the fourth round, but he didnt. If the knockdown happened earlier in the round, I think JMM would have been KO'd. The fight again ended in a controversial decision, but the judges rewarded the more harder punching of Manny rather than the volume of punches by JMM. I think a 3rd fight should happen, but it will not happen at 130 lbs, if it happens it will be at 135. Manny felt JMM's power, thats why he didnt attack as much, but at 135. Manny will be more powerful and I think JMM will not be able to handle it. Manny knows this thats why he is rejecting a rematch at 130, it will never happen unless JMM goes up in weight.

  2. yeah it should be a draw...

don't know why manny chicken out about the rematch...

i'm a filipino and i'm disappointed about pacquiao dodging the rematch...people love him coz his doesn't back down on anything, but on this one think his afraid that he can't put away marquez and marquez would win on the rematch...

judges give tough love to counter punchers except mayweather...

  3. Bunch of sour grapers...

TAKE IT LIKE A MAN and move on.

Lots of sissy talk from sore losers. haha.

  4. i dont think manny chickened out...i guess  its more of the pay back thingy...there was a time, when pac was beging for an instant rematch after their first controversial encounter...but politics in the boxing world crushed him...including his supposed barrera title shot...so now his got the belt...his just playing the game, the way he  was 1s played...i beleieve there will be athird battle...it all depends on top rank dealing another set with golden boy...this time arum has the upper hand with the belt on his boy...just pure opinion...

  5. No one got robbed.... Pacquiao won fair and square...

  6. Marquez deserved the win, but he wasn't going to win against the popularity of Manny Pacquiao. I think the Filipinos would've been happy with a DRAW. Marquez landed more shots, and power shots, here are the punch stats.

    PUNCH STATS

    Total Punches: Pacquaio - 157 of 619 (25%); Marquez - 172 of 511 (34%). Jabs: Pacquaio - 43 of 314 (14%); Marquez - 42 of 201 (21%). Power Punches: Pacquaio - 114 of 305 (37%); Marquez - 130 of 310 (42%).

  7. If anyone watch the scorecards tonight you would see that everyone commenting on the fight gave Marquez the 5 round, but only one judge gave it to Marquez.

The other two gave it to Pacquio, when it clearly was probably Marquez best round of the whole fight.  This would have given him the fight.  People need to learn to judge based on technical expertise and not with their emotions.

  8. The knock-down in the 3rd round is key. Grats to Pacquiao.

  9. could have gone either way so it's a draw...

  10. it was a BS descision

  11. OMG..THE FIGHT WASN'T ROBBED! MANNY WON THE FIGHT AND YOU CAN'T REWIND IT OR GO BACK AND SAY MARQUEZ WON..EVEN THOUGH MARQUEZ HAD LANDED WAY MORE SHOTS, HE STILL GOT KNOCKED DOWN BY MANNY..AND HE CAN'T EVEN PUT MANNY'S KNEE ON THE FLOOR..

  12. everyone hates pacquiao man...because he's a filipino...those mexican g*y fans just cant accept that pacquiao is better...why can't they wait for pacquiao to decline

  13. No question that they're evenly matched.  But even the Filipino fans sitting next to me were saying Marquez had won at end of the fight.  Most writers and many commentators had it scored for Marquez, including two of 3 Filipino commentators on their broadcast.  After the replay last night, Max Kellerman said that he hasn't seen a Marquez vs. Pacquiao fight that he thought Marquez had lost.  Despite the knockdown, there was another round within a couple of that round that all 3 judges incorrectly gave to Pacquiao that Marquez had clearly dominated.  Despite the last-minute judge-replacement for a pro-Roach judge, it was a great fight.  I believe Marquez got the short end again, but he knows he won.  At the very least, it should have been scored a draw but Pacquiao didn't win.

  14. The fight wasn't robbed. Based on my opinion, the match could have ended on a draw or a win for Manny. The 3rd round knockdown for Marquez was one of the deciding factor on why Pacquiao won. If Marquez did not go down, the match could have ended on his favor or it could have been another draw. Both fighters were evenly matched with both of them almost alternately winning rounds. They were going toe-to-toe even though they both have cuts on their left eye. Speaking of cuts, the one on Marquez was bleeding badly compared to Pacquiao ( a result of poor ability of the cutmen) and I think it was counted against him.

  15. No robbery no but the fight  could have gone either way. Both fighters have a rematch clause in the contract so they most likely will fight again. Pacman probably deserved to win but they both fought their asses off and nothing should be taken away from JMM. The one knockdown from pacman very well probably made the difference in the outcome of the fight but i think regardless a rematch should be automatic these 2 fighters were made to fight 1 another and i think anyone and everyone would love to see them fight again at any weight.
