Learnt a lot about him in Year 8, watched the movie and it was a pretty interesting story. Boring movie but the whole idea of him was pretty interesting.

Was he real?

  2. No, the Scarlet Pimpernel wasn't real. Just a great character in a novel by Baroness Orczy. You're so lucky to study that in Year 8! I did boring stuff at school. :)

  3. No, the Scarlet Pimpernel isn't based on an historical person, although the series of books does contain real historical  figures who lived during the period of the French Revolution, such as the villain, Armand Chauvelin, who is loosely based on Bernard Francois, Marquis de Chauvelin.
