Did the framers of the Constitution intend for a real parity of power or was their intent to give one level of government much more control? How is that balance of power today? What are some of the key elements regarding power?

  1. The intent of the Constitution was to establish a clear separation of powers with the majority of authority given to the states.  Any scholar of the US Constitution knows this.  The politicians, fueled by the ignorance of the public, have taken more and more power, much of which is in clear violation of the Constitution.  Seems to me it is getting time to take it back.

  2. The framers intention was to avoid whats happening today. The "checks and balances" system that was built to avoid what is happening today has fallen out of sync.  People look to the president as they would a king, which is wrong. If the president calls a member of the house or congress and wants a bill passed, it usually happens. Unless its something they feel would upset the general public to an excessive degree then they will "vote" on it.  The general public needs to vote in pure under-dogs. People who are completely broke and just throw up a couple flags in hopes to get elected.  They're the ones you want in office not millionaires.  Because millionaires only care about..you guessed it..millionaires...
