Was the hummingbird I saw actually a moth?

Just now I saw what I thought was a hummingbird. It flew so fast, you couldn't see the wings, but it was very small. I thought it was a baby hummingbird. The top half was a light color, maybe gray, there was a distinct white stripe, like a belt, and a dark bottom. Then the tail fanned out like a lobster, it also had what looked like antennas.

I think it might be a sphinx moth.

Am I right?

Actually, there is a kind of moth that looks like a hummingbird, the hummingbird hawk-moth.  It does look a bit lobster-ish.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hummingbird...
