Was the mccoy and hatfield feud a work of literature?

I think the dispute between the Hatfields and McCoys was over land, but I'm not really sure. But both families decided to call a truce several years ago, and they do have a reunion every year to mark the anniversary of the feud.

No,  but it has become a work of American folklore that has become a metaphor for bitterly feuding rival parties in general.   There is an article on wikipedia that explains it pretty well.

My daughter just did a report on it.  Look it up online.  There are several websites about it.  It happened along the West Virginian-KY border.  The familie's descendants meet for a picnic every year, I believe.

No.  My biology teacher in highschool knew those folks.  He had quite interesting stories to tell; makes you want to throw up on the theory of evolution or "Darwinism" as we knew it by.

Amazing that more family members were not killed, and you ought to remember, these were (and are) proud folks. Descendants of some of the oldest families in the colonies.

The song and movie relate to a real feud, although one of the family names is changed.  Check with wikipedia for a link to the correct names.
