Question:

Was the pregnancy test accurate?

I had s*x on August 11th and 12th. I usually always get my period on the 14th of each month. I didn't get it yet and today is the 18th. I took a pregnancy test on the 16th. It came out negative but the test said 5 days before missed period but I had just had s*x a couple days before. Was the test false since it was so soon even if it says 5 days before missed period? I've been bloated for about a week now, no period though. Do you think I'm pregnant. Please, I'm looking for opinions on if you think I'm pregnant and answers to my questions don't just say "wait longer and take another"

  1. General rule of thumb is that you ovulate 14 days before your period.  You probably ovulated in the first week of the month, so it's not likely you're pregnant.  Even if you were, the pregnancy test picks out HCG, which is excreted after implantation, which takes a few days after fertilization.

I don't think you're pregnant, but if you go 2 or 3 MORE weeks without a period, then a pergnancy test would be accurate.

  2. I don't think that you'd really have the hormone present, as you would have conceived 4-5 days before you took the test. I'd definitely say to wait a little longer and test again, but you know your body. If you feel like you're having period symptoms and not pregnancy symptoms, you're probably fine.

  3. i think u took the test way too early u took it like a week..usually when they say 5 days before a missed period they assume u had s*x during ovulation week which is 2 weeks before u would get ur period. So u need to wait about another week and take another one
