Was the reason the RNC had more viewers because?

during the DNC a lot of Republicans didn't watch nor care about their convention but the Liberals all tuned in to watch the RNC?

They seem to have hung on every word that John and Sarah said and took notes so they could spend hours and hours trying to debunk every single nuance.

The Republicans just called the DNC's whole convention BS and moved on.

  1. My thoughts exactly. Very few republicans  are going to watch what they ridicule every day, but I think many democrats and independents watched the GOP convention, AND, we all noticed that neither the president or vice president attended their own party's convention. Doesn't that say it all? I always heard actions speak louder than words.

  2. the DNC was covered by more networks. 1o carried Obamas speech compared to 8 for McCain and 6 for Palin.

  3. That makes us considerably smarter for keeping an eye on the enemy.

  4. That's exactly why I watched the RNC...

I knew it would be fertile ground for statements to make YouTube videos out of...

McCain performed brilliantly... looking like the Wizard of Oz with his Green Screen in the background... telling everyone to ignore the protests from Code Pink...

When he said "I have the scars and Obama doesn't." it was the most beautiful act of desperation I've ever seen...

    Bravo!

  5. Curious minds want to know. I watched parts of both conventions.

  6. Yes, I think you are right. That dismissive and condescending attitude will be the Republican party's undoing. Keep it up, soldier.

  7. you might be right about dems watching it I know I did a little it's because we are open minded.

but hearing all the attacks that palin made just reminded me just how much I can't stand republicans.

  8. Obama campaign encouraged convention parties which I was happy to be the sponsor of one such party.  When each party has several people that adds up.  There were thousands of parties all over the country.

Also Democrats are more likely to watch both conventions than just there own, they are more open then republicans.  Republicans are closed to ideas that do not follow their ideology and seem to be intolerant of democrats in general.

  9. I'm a lib and watched the RNC, didn't watch the DNC..

I think Dems are more likely to let themselves be riduculed the Reps.. Republicans get offended easily and seem to be the ones who walk away from a debate.. I also listen to Rep radio and hear callers tell the host they'd never listen to the other side...

  10. To see the smart babe!

  11. Because we wanted to see who this moose hunter was she  was very disapointing because Palin recently said that the war in Iraq is "God's task." She's even admitted she hasn't thought about the war much—just last year she was quoted saying, "I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq.

Palin has actively sought the support of the fringe Alaska Independence Party. Six months ago, Palin told members of the group—who advocate for a vote on secession from the union—to "keep up the good work" and "wished the party luck on what she called its 'inspiring convention.'"

Palin wants to teach creationism in public schools. She hasn't made clear whether she thinks evolution is a fact.

Palin doesn't believe that humans contribute to global warming. Speaking about climate change, she said, "I'm not one though who would attribute it to being manmade."

Palin has close ties to Big Oil. Her inauguration was even sponsored by BP.

Palin is extremely anti-choice. She doesn't even support abortion in the case of rape or incest.

Palin opposes comprehensive s*x-ed in public schools. She's said she will only support abstinence-only approaches.

As mayor, Palin tried to ban books from the library. Palin asked the library how she might go about banning books because some had inappropriate language in them—shocking the librarian, Mary Ellen Baker. According to Time, "news reports from the time show that Palin had threatened to fire Baker for not giving "full support" to the mayor.

She DID support the Bridge to Nowhere (before she opposed it). Palin claimed that she said "thanks, but no thanks" to the infamous Bridge to Nowhere. But in 2006, Palin supported the project repeatedly, saying that Alaska should take advantage of earmarks "while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist."

  12. Many non-Republicans watched to be informed. Not that it worked. Information wasn't one of the things you received. None the less. We wanted to hear what the opposition had to say.

  13. i believe the reason is because there are a lot of first time voters this year. they are probably just not interested in politics.

  14. For the same reason that people watch a tight rope walker at the circus, i.e., to see if they fall.

  15. Pretty much. Educated people like to be informed, especially when it means listening to the opposition lie to their choir about what they plant to do.

It is the same reason, lib/dems know what creationism is and a scientific theory is, but right-wingers confuse a scientific theory with the basic theory definitions which means a conjecture made in absence of data.
