Was the recent much publicised rugby game between England & France all that important as half the French?

I'd have thought that it would have made the game even more important if both sets of fans live in the same area

Of course it was an important game for both sides!

The French did not want to lose a match in the World Cup on their home patch! This is the biggest tournament in rugby, the home team is always expected to get to the final in a Coupe du Monde.

As for England? Well...let's just say the fact that team was even in a position to platy France in a WC semi was unbelievable. None of the press can believe it.

I think it was a more important game for France, as England did not expect to be there.
