  1. Yes

  2. Yes, I love the Red Sox, but Manny's behavior was making the entire team look bad. His little comments about "not caring which teams he plays for as long as he's playing baseball" and "they don't deserve me" says alot about his loyalty.

    Be gone Manny.

    We still have Big Papi.

    Go Red Sox!

    =)

  3. I would have traded Manny for a pound of jelly beans.

  4. I think it was.  I think the Pirates got the best deal out of the trade because of the prospects they received.  I think Andy Laroche will be a premier third baseman in this league.

  5. great for the pirates, good/great for the dodgers, and not so good for the bosox

  6. Not for the sox expect ortiz to be walked anytime their is an open first base and runners in scoring position.  Besides bary bonds i cant think of a single player in the last twenty years who has had as big an effect to the other players in their teams linup as many

  7. To break it down grade wise

    Pirates-B+

Got 4 prospects for one of your top outfielders. if they can develop them then great but on paper a good player for 4 potentially great players sounds like a win

    Dodgers-A

Gave up only 2 prospects to get Manny, and Boston is picking up 7 Mill of his salary! He will be playing under coaches he respects in Torre Mattingly and Boa, against some of the worst pitching this year i nthe NL West..The Dodgers really improved their chances by getting him

    Red Sox-C+

You lose Manny, two prospects, 7 Mill, and you get Jason Bay..In the last two years Manny and Bay have practically the same numbers..So the question is really can you put a price on the loss of off-field issues and antics that Manny brought to the club? Does it equal 2 prospects and 7 Million bucks??

  8. trades, like anything else are always subject to a lot of debate. For Instance, the Red Sox trading Manny to LA, is a win for LA. A future hall of famer, member of the over 500 home run club, and they need some power in LA. But if you ask a Boston fan, they were glad to get rid of him. Theo Epstein the GM of Boston has done some risky trades ( Nomar) but they have won 2 out of the last 4 world series. Only time will tell when it comes to baseball trades. But overall, it was a good for baseball.
