Was the spontaneous standing ovation Obama received more genuine than McCain's shouting to "Stand up!!!"?

Obama might be the best political speaker I've ever heard, and I've been around a long time.  Poor old McCain is so boring and horrible.  How can the republicans continue to convince themselves they could win an election?  Do they tend to believe their own c**p?
