  1. If u got Soraino yes

  2. I was totally happy with the trade. I couldn't stand him from day one.  He was a Mariner.  The Enemy.  On paper or in a fantasy league this trade would never happen.  But A-rod was ready to leave and they got what they could for his huge salary.  I personally think they should have traded him to Boston.  That trade would have been better for them.  The deal would have been A-rod for Manny and Jon Lester.  Hind sight is 20-20 I guess.  Manny is Manny and they sure could have used Jon Lester. They eventually traded Soriano to Washington for Brad Wilkerson and some other guy.  The worst trade in Ranger history.

  3. well

    not really

    but they agreed to it

    so i guess its fair

  4. Since the trade happen yes it must have been perceived as fair.

  5. On paper no. But the teams did it and i guess they wanted salary room for  more players.

  6. what?

  7. If both teams agree to the terms, then it's fair.

  8. The Rangers made a HUGE mistake believing anyone would be worth $25 mil (expecially when the estimated amount was going to be $17 mil for 7 years)

I am not sure how they thought (or how Arod would think) that the team could have been competitive paying one player 1/3 of the team's salary.

The Yankees bailed them out big time by sacrificing the next 8 years or world championship honour.

The Rangers had to pay $7 mil of Arod's salary which Arod was nice enough to relieve them of that burden when he opted out and signed for the exact amount.

Now, the only 'unfair' thing could be that the Rangers couldn't use Soriano or traded for anyone of quality.
