  1. After 100's of 1000's of tortured dead dumped in mass graves, 17 violated resolutions... I'd say that.

  2. Bush & company wanted to go in to Iraq from the beginning. 9-11 was their excuse. They lied to Americans about the Iraq war and thousands of people have died. This is an unnecessary war for oil.

  3. how many warnings were they given via the u.n.?  17-18?  blaming bush is pure B/S congress had the same info he had and most of the demo's including clinton voted for it then when things started getting rough they started changing their minds and blaming bush--if things had gone good from the start then they would be trying to take credit for it.  give me a break--some people have to have someone to blame

  4. Yes,

10 Years of Saddam violating the peace treaty from the first Gulf War

10 Years of Saddam violating Numerous UN Resolution and UN Weapon Inspections

10 Years of Economic Sactions by the US and Other countries failed.

What else were we supposed to do.  Saddam had no intention of disarming or cooperating with the UN.  He was begging for a fight and he got it.

  5. Just the opposite.  It was a horrible first resort.  As it was said, Iraq didn't pose a threat to the US at all.  Saddam, even though he was a horrible man that killed his own people (in the 80s when we were giving him weapons), he was not a terrorist.  He was a military dictator.  And his longest range missiles could only reach northern Israel.

EDIT:  Nightwind is on crack.  He forgets that the genocide charges that were brought upon Saddam were from the 80's...when Reagan was giving him weapons to fight Iran.  Basically, we came in to stop the monster that we created.  Secondly, the sactions and inspectors were brought by the UN.  So when the UN says "don't attack Iraq", maybe we should listen.  Or how about when the inspectors say, "we just need more time."  There were plenty of avenues we could have taken instead of going to war.  The "women are second class citizens" argument is c**p, too.  Saudi Arabia probably treats their women the worst, but they are one of our biggest allies in that region.  So don't throw up that nonsense.  I don't care how the senators voted.  This war has played out exactly as I imagined it would have back when it started.  Bush Sr. was smart enough to know better.  Too bad his son isn't.  Besides, Senators had to vote for war.  That was during a time when you would get lynched for saying, "I don't agree with the president".  Lastly, Iraq never hit us on our own soil.  That was from terrorists working out of Afghanistan.  That is why we are fighting a war in Afghanistan, not Iraq.  Al Qaeda didn't have a strong presense in Iraq until we got there.

  6. I don't think so.  i don't think you always want to wait until you have only a last resort left when making decsions. I believe most people wouldn't do that

You always hear things like "we'll do plan A, but as a last resort we can do plan B", meaning they don't really want to have to the last resort, it's just there in case plan A does not work.  The last resort is usally the worse of two choices.

  7. It was quite blatantly a first resort.  We could have tried diplomacy before unleashing h**l.

  8. No it wasn't. It is failed foreign policy and to use the excuse that Saddam was a bad guy and had killed some of his people is not legitimate since we haven't invaded Darfur, or the Sudan or anywhere in Africa where they are killing each other in numbers much greater than Iraq ever did. Oh that's right, there isn't any oil in Africa for american industry to make money on.

  9. I don't really don't want to elaborate on this other than the war in Iraq was a bunch of BS!!!!!!! for a number of reasons.

  10. Far from it - very connived resort.

  11. No. It was a new beginning.

  12. Well gee.....we tried talking

    we tried inspectors

    we tried sanctions

we tried blockades in the gulf

we went to the UN and had approved resolutions

we even got hit on our own soil from inaction from the build up of terrorist hits for decades

Sounds like it was almost the last resort to me..unless you are hard core and condone the killing of 25 million people including innocent women and children.

I suppose THE LAST resort in that case would be to turn the region into a glass parking lot

So funny to see all these idiots saying it was a first resort, I guess they have alzheimers and are forgetting the 4 years plus leading up to us finally just going to war. And what bugs me most is there's alot of these kind of idiots that seem to know nothing about what steps we took, what we did, what failed and obviously know nothing about the intell reports or seen the information that not only the president saw, but what the senators themselves saw too and signed on to go ahead with the war effort.

Did we forget the mass burial graves ?

Did we forget all about the rolling food shortages that was the norm in Iraq before we even went there ?

Did we forget the 2nd class citizenship of women ? the Honor Killings ? The rapes and brutality ?

Surely you remember the choppers they used to grind up political advisaries ?

What of the terrorist training camps in Iraq.....I guess that's just their version of Yosemity ?

Even today , with all this time past, the Iraqie's are glad we came to liberate. Life is kinda getting back to normal. all you Democrat political idiots gave up like whining little school girls claiming we can't win, and the surge wasn't working, and oh my 4000 dead..when that isn't but 1/1000 of what died in WW2.

Nice an convenient that you have such short term memories.

If you think Hilary and the others signed on cuz they were fooled by Bush, you don't know reality and should shut it since all your good for is spreading mis-information. How about a little truth with your liberalism and Bush hate syndrome

  13. No.  As we knew before the invasion, Iraq posed no serious or legitimate threat to the soverneighty of the USA.
