  1. I can even tell you the song.....Iron Maiden "Run to the Hills"!!!  I was a mainstream kind of kid and then happened upon a guy at a red light who had it blaring.  I got his attention, found out who it was, and have never been the same.

  2. Metallica changed me forever.  After watching Old School and hearing their Master of Puppets on one particular scene.  And then after hearing that song on the radio, I knew I would be traveling into a world of Heavy Metal music.  Thank you, Metallica.

  3. i was into c**p music then some time in 99 i was watching hbos reverb and a then unknown band came on and just killed it im talking about Disturbed they did "want","the game" and another song and from then on i was into METAL

  4. Blink-182/Boxcar Racer... When I listen to them (especially if I am not in a happy mood) and I relate to the lyrics, it just makes me  feel better.

  5. Atreyu and Flyleaf..I can relate to sum of there songs

  6. Has to be 'Pink Floyd'! What a way to mellow you out but still keeping you interested and wanting more!

  7. I would say Sevenfold but I was listening to Dimmu Borgir  and some Slayer way before them, But i'd have to say Metallica...before they started to suck..alot.

Blackened & Master of Puppets...wooow

  8. Green Day has definitely changed my life.

  9. System of A Down for me. I used to listen to a lot of those mainstream punk bands. System changed that though and now I listen to a lot of harder stuff as well.

  10. Mine would be Godsmack......they got me into rock and metal and for that I owe them everything.......

    :)

  11. MCR. i was sitting on a bridge contemplating suicide. i decided it was a bad idea so i hopped off, back onto the pavement, and a car stopped, they were playing "welcome to the black parade". i instantly got sick to my stomache, and jumped over the other side of the bridge into the water.

i was in the hospital for 3 weeks

    ****** MCR

  12. I was seven yrs old and I bought a record with my own money I saved up.  It was four guys on the cover with crazy make up.  Kiss was the band that got me where I am today!

  13. Guns'n'Roses. i was into soft rock and didn't like electric guitar when i was watching vh1 and "sweet child o'mine" started...in that second i fell in love with guitars and after that night i just didn't like anymore a song without a decent solo or riff...

and also metallica changed me a lot...i just stopped being afraid of things around me...and this summer when i went to their concert...that also change a part of me, it made me see the world and the music different...i'll never forget that night!

  14. Metallica, my first cassette tape was from them. It changed the way I listened to music forever. Tells u how long ago it was.

  15. Evanescence.  My cousin showed it to me.  Now I see how much pain people go through.  That's not a bad thing though, i like to connect to people.

  16. Flyleaf and Bon Jovi,

I know i know, i'm getting ready for tha thumb down.

The Lyrics are so powerful, and i can relate to almost every song that they have.  Flyleaf made me thing more about My religion, and how lucky i was to be alive.

And Bon Jovi oppened all of the doors to the bands from the 80s.  Before i knew about Bon Jovi i didn't know about any bands, until i started listening to their music and i just wanted more, so i listen to other bands and i fell in love with the decade.

  17. A few bands completely changed my life The Beatles, Grateful Dead and The Who.  They completely changed my life.

  18. Simon & Garfunkel

  19. Tool no doubt.  Go into them late.  But the 1st time I heard Aenima I knew for the 1st time that I wasn't alone in knowing that the world needs to be cleaned.  After that I eventually heard all their music and it has truly helped me evolve into I.

  20. The Rolling Stones and Lol i think I'm the only person on yahoo answers who is not a teen age, but i love all kind of music but my favorite is Stones

  21. OASIS,  change my life, because improve the music, they made and make my life far better amusing, they know how to entertein, they really rocks and Wonderwall is my favorite song and the new "The shock of the lightning" is five stars!

  22. Slayer, they gave me an unquenchable thirst for heavier, darker, and more brutal music since I first heard them

  23. Circa Survive, their music just does something to me I can't explain.

  24. I'd have to say it was Judas Priest "British Steel" album....I was 12 years old (1981) and it absolutely blew my mind....I had no idea that kind of music existed

From that point forward I was all things metal.....

  25. Probably Black Sabbath. I used to listen to alot of lighter classic rock like Jimi Hendrix and Rolling Stones, but after listening to them I was into harder rock

  26. Well many bands.

Infected Mushroom is the greatest psychedelic trance duo (for me). They made me realize that music borders are not clear.

Megadeth got me into metal, one of the greatest band of all time. I really admire Dave Mustaine for his figth against Metallica, his recovery from drugs and the fact that he made me realize that I should never give up.

Oasis showed me my kind side and made me think about my friends and what I want to do with my life.

There are others like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Daft Punk, Van Morrison, The Police, Jerry Lee Lewis, JS Bach, Eric Clapton, many others.

Also Randy Rhoads, who was always studying and practicing to become the best guitarist.

  27. Slayer. If it weren't for them I would probably still be listening to sh*tty MTV music.

  28. Yes. I used to be kinda emo and depressed for no good reason (My Chemical Romance made me that way). Then R.E.M. made me realize that doing that was stupid, so I guess they sorta changed me.

  29. well, i used to listen to some really hard core bands. like, mcr, breaking benjamin, paramore, 30 seconds to mars, roses are red, fineral for a friend, and stuff like that. and it made me really depressed most of the time for no reason. then i relized that my house was filled with beatles music and i started listening to it a lot and hot happier. along with simon and garfunkel, and people around me even noticed everything about me was changed. they pretty much saved my life. I love the beatles and S&G
