  1. I received a check also for $5.79. I cannot verify it to be true either. I do know that any settlement always has paperwork to sign off. I don't plan to cash mine as I think it may be a ploy to obtain banking information.

  2. Everybody else sues them... call their 800 number or more likely, inquire through their website.

  3. There was such a case and the checks are legit. The lawyer for the plaintiffs is Wood Foster @612-337-6100 . If you google the district court of Minnesota you will get a side bar where it says cases. I typed in either name and pulled up a lawyer that had worked the case I guess for United Healthcare and he gave me the name of the other lawyer. Guess I will cash my check. The case was started in Aug. of 2000 and settled 4 years later. Makes sense on the stub we got with our check.

  4. If the check is from United HealthCare, call the bank it's drawn upon to ask them if it's legit.  Clue:  You would have had a policy through United HealthCare at some point in time.
