Was there a prehistoric whale

i know there were prehistoric fish and sharks but were there whales and if so wouldnt they be the biggest animals to ever live other then blue whales or did they evolve at a diffrent time

  2. No evidence of any whales from the 'age of the dinosaurs' is known.  They enter the fossil record later; the Eocene as far as I can remember -approximately 50 million years ago.  As far as is known, the Blue whale is the largest whale there's ever been.

    One of the earliest known whales is a charming critter called /Ambulocetus/.  It's known from a more-or-less complete specimen, and that includes its charming legs.
