Is there only one Big Bang? And since space is infinite, why can't there be other Big Bangs?

  1. Remember that Big bang is just a theory! Just a opinion of some people! It is unknown to us how it was in reality.

  2. yeah about half an hour ago after i ate that bean burrito

  3. According to Brian Greene, there have been an infinite number of them.

Check out the recent Radiolab podcast.

  4. soz if u really believed  in the 'big bang', cuz its not true...

i mean, who created the stuff that made the big bang! god did.

no there was no other big bang. i dont believe in big bangs, but its a really cool word BIG BANG...(giggles)

  5. As far as we can tell, space is not inifinite, just very, very big.

If there were another big bang "somewhere else", outside of our universe, we wouldn't know about it.

  6. space is not infinite, space cannot exist without time -so space is the time of big bang x the speed of light

-but another big bang did take place before the last big implosion

  7. there were supposedly 6  re-births of the earth... its quite interesting how evolution works... i studied it in the international baccalaureate program and it was my favorite subject.

  8. "soz if u really believed in the 'big bang', cuz its not true...

i mean, who created the stuff that made the big bang! god did."

How can you say there was no big bang, then in the very next sentence say god created the big bang?

And if you're going to ask what created the big bang, then I get to ask what created god?

We are only capable of studying things in this universe, meaning this big bang and the current iteration of the universe that it created.  The questions you are asking are outside of what we can study, and can only be speculated upon.  Think whatever you want about it, whether there were more big bangs or not, but it's useless to think about because it's beyond what we can investigate and study.

  9. This is just my opinion....I think that the number of universes is the same as the number of galaxies, like there are millions of universes floating around in a huge black blob (or white i dont know) just like the galaxies float around in the universe. Imagine what would happen if two universes collided, i mean a galaxy collision is big but that would be....i dont have a big enough word to describe it!!!

  10. If space is infinite, where could another Big Bang occur?

  11. No. There was only one Big Bang!
