  1. Yes. It was the latest end of the world news story. Very similar to today's gloabal warming. Stop listening to the Chicken Little scientists of the world. Do what you can to abe a "green" citizen, but don't believe for a second that humans are the biggest contributing factor to any global climate shifts.

  2. Yes, it was a very big story in the 1970s.  Time magazine had a cover story about the coming ice age.  See the attached link to read that Time magazine story.

  3. http://www.davidsuzuki.org

This is a good website that will give you lots of info.

  4. No, but the warming did stop for a while, due to man's emissions of dust ("aerosols") which blocked the sun.  See this graph of verified and peer reviewed data:

It wasn't at all like global warming today, in the scientific community.  It was a theory put forward by a few scientists with little data, and no backing from major scientific organizations.  They were very much like the global warming _skeptics_ of today.  More details here:

  5. Yep

Funny isn't it - at that time there was a fear that we were heading into a global ice age

I personally think we have simply TOTALLY PISSED MOTHER NATURE OFF

and that both the Cooling & the upcoming Warming are/were true
