Was this an unknown spirit in my presence?

The other day I was talking about someone who had passed away this year. I don't know this person personally but I knew of them and I was talking about them(not talking bad about them just talking about what a tragedy it was and how I felt really bad). All of a sudden I got a chill and felt a warm feeling on the back of my neck, almost like they were there. Was this their spirit around me? I have felt spirits around me before but never like this and usually I feel like it's a past relative or friend, but this was someone I didn't even know so I just wonder why they would come around me.

The souls of dead people don't come back to this life after they die.  They are placed in a certain state between death and the next life. Muslims call it barzakh and Christians - purgatory.  They will stay there until resurrected to be judged for the next life, whether to go to heaven or h**l.

The spirits around we feel in this life are called "jinn" or "jinni". They were created like humans but we cannot see them; they can see us on the other hand.  They can also take the form of snakes, cats, dogs, and get into humans (like in the movie Exorcist).  There are some good jinns and bad jinns called devils, demons, satan, etc.

Wow--that is pretty cool.  I have read that spirits come to those who can recognize that they are there...perhaps your being open to sensing spirits was enough to bring this spirit to you.

It's possible that it was. Perhaps the person/spirit was simply interested in what you had to say about them.
