Was this good timing for sperm life?

My last period was on the 15th of this month, my husband and I have been TTC for 13 mths and it always seems that he is out of town when I am fertile. This time he again was out of town but we were able to get some time together. My cycles are usualy 28 days. With charting I ovulted on Monday the 28th. We were able to have s*x on July24,25,and the 26th. Do you think I can still get prego from those dates? Do you think his men can live that long? He has a child from when he was married before so I know his men were fertile at one point.

Good timing or long shot? thanks all.

  1. Good timing - especially for having a girl.  Good luck and baby dust!!

  2. good timing as having s*x on the 21st would have been the earliest you could have got caught as sperm can survive 7 days max,so all thee of those times were good times

  3. That  is very good, Sperm lives for 3-5 days so you were right on time.

    best of luck

  4. sperm can live 2-5 days

  5. Obviously you would want to have s*x the day before as well (I'm in that same boat and missed the day before too this month :(...but we did it two and three days before and the day of so fingers crossed!) but hey the important thing is we did it in the fertile window so lots of baby dust to us both...

And as mentioned before even with perfect timing we still have a 25% chance if you are healthy (I have less than that since I've got endometriosis...yipee)

P.S. If you've been TTC for over a year both of you should get tested just to make sure everything is okay...even though his men were good once doesn't mean they are now...and you need to be sure all of your reproductive organs are ok too...

    good luck again!

  6. good timing...sperm can live for 3-5 days and if u ovulated on the 28th, had s*x on the 26th...theres still a good chance...the sperm will still be alive...good luck!!

  7. i would say you have a good chance. the sperm live for up to 5 days, gradually loosing their "umph." even if you had s*x at the right time though, remember there is only a 20-25% of a successful implantation.

keep your hopes up and obviously, dont test until your period is already late. best of luck
