Was this normal regarding ovulation?

Hi i had really bad ov pains on CD 13 and then lots of EWCM on CD 14 but i didnt get my +ve OPK until day 17 and ov'd on day 18. I definately bd to cover all bases around both times. But i was wondering why i had ovulation pains on CD 13 and didnt ov until 5 days later.Thanks

Yes, I get this. My ovulation cramps always seem to be really early at the moment too!  ... then I get the EWCM for 3 or 4 days, and then on the day it dries up, that's ovulation.
