set aside our political differences.. and the underage gymnasts

with the awesome opening/closing ceremony aswell as all the sports and athletes from all over the world, don't you think China did well in hosting and welcoming everyone else?

Even though that would be the 3rd olympics there, can London live up to what China just did?!

I don't think London will be able to duplicate the grandeur or overwhelm people like Beijing had.  The wow factor will not be nearly reached.

For once NBC commentators said something objective, "China has raised the bar".  A new standard has been set.

British appeared, with a dance skit including a London bus and members of three dance companies. Clearly, they were playing far from home, with limited resources. Even so, it looked chaotic and under-rehearsed.

As far as the Games themselves and the athletes, oh yeah. Usain Bolt, Michael Phelps, Nastia Luikin, the Chinese Diving Team, the Beach and indoor volleyball competitions were all awesome. Some of the best competition ever.
