8-4-08 Doctor sent me a letter stating that the insurance company hasn't been paying her and that I could call her when I figure it out.

8-5-08 I recieved the letter in the mail and called the insurance company up right away to take care of the problem. Everything turned out to be fine.

I called my doctor right away and left a message explaining everything to her and that I was very sorry and I said If you want to call me back here's my number.

I've waited over 24 hours and I got no call. Was this unprofessional of her not to call back?

I have an appt. friday should i go?

  1. If in your message you just said that you are sorry and "if you want to call me back here's my number", then actually I don't see why would she call you. You didn't ask her to call, and you didn't leave any information about the purpose of your call.

As for the appointment, why don't you call the office and ask?

  2. Doctors are very busy. They are willing to take your call if they dont have a patient or have extra time on their lunch breaks, and even after the day is over. I suggest you bring in all your info and break it down at your appointment. I think this is the best way since you dont want to rely on voicemails as a solution. So many things can be accomplished when you have direct contact. Also VM is a hardway to communicate because your only stating the problem, not all the inbetween stuff..

  3. In this day and age, doctors usually don't even call back when test results indicate you're dying.

You have to call them a million times. I wouldn't think too much of it.

  4. You said she should call back if she wanted to.  If you explained things to her satisfaction, there is no need to call you back.

Go to your appointment on Friday, take your paperwork with you, and ask again if they need anything.

Her behavior is not at all unprofessional.

  5. I don't think it was unprofessional.  Doctor's offices are really busy.  You should def. go on Friday and clear everything up.

  6. This isn't unprofessional.  Doctor's don't have time to call and follow up on a situation that's already resolved.  She knows you have an appointment Friday and will probably mention it then.  The not calling on her part is a confirmation that there is no longer a problem with your insurance.

  7. Doctors are VERY busy.

Go in on friday and take the letter and the info if there is any problems upon check in.

  8. No, not unprofessional at all. She's a very busy lady and has too much on her plate. There is no reason for her to get back to you about what happened. Talk to her when you see her on your appointment. Ask her if it's all fixed now.

  9. doctors dont call back  go to the appointment and there is no need to explain the bill to the doctor  that is why they have receptionists  ask her if it was taken care of and if it was you can give your apology to her about the confusion or delay  this happens   they are use to it so you dont have to go overboard on the apology

  10. They probably checked with your insurance to, found out it was paid and figured why bother you again, all is "cool". Yes go to the doctor if you need to, or give them a  call  within 24 hours of your appt. or they might charge you anyway.

  11. You said your message states "if you want to call..." therefore, she must not have wanted to call.

Yes you should go in person, if you still feel there's unprofessionalism, then find another doctor.
