Was wondering how reliable is email thats sent to a soldier in iraq?

does anyone no how reliable are emails(on delivery) that are sent to iraq? actually how reliable is the internet over there in iraq? thanks for your help!

  1. It depends on what they're doing where. The internet in iraq isn't going to affect the email at all. The person you sent it to might not be able to get to a computer very often depending on their job and what base they're on.

    Some people are lucky enough to work with computers and never leave the base, while others are rarely even at one.


  2. Depends on where you are, I have a friend over there and their net connections are slow and go down often, and then there is the problem of the electricity going out frequently as well.  If at a nice FOB then it would be more reliable, at some more remote places, not so much.

  3. E-mail is easy to send over there. Heck, they even got internet cafes, too.

    I remember in Iraq, they had unknown internet companies like eircom or something like that. Internet is really expensive over there, though. My buddies and I pitched in for a satellite dish and it was like, $1800 a month?

    Best of advise is to talk to a contractor since they know more of that stuff.
