yesterday my sister-in-law mailed me the vote from MSN about having the "In God We Trust" removed from the money in the USA. What is your opinion on this?

  1. My opinion is why don't they just leave well enough alone. Where is the harm of it staying on the coin?  Why is this a big deal all of a sudden?  Seems like all the old traditions are being taking away.  Hope it doesn't happen.

  2. I'm not a religious person but, as long as the gas station and grocery store take it I don't care what is stamped on it.

Yes, the country was founded on the right of freedom of religion and separation of church and state. Putting "In God we trust has nothing to do with promoting any certain religion any more than saying a prayer before public meetings or

    NASCAR races.

  3. Pagan - I do not want to see it happen either - if they do that then they should tear down all the old buildings in DC -  they all have the

"In G-d we Trust" message on them.    Where will it stop!

    CJ

  4. since my beliefs and how i honor god is very private it would not bother me it the least -- do not bring the founding fathers into the discussion what they truly envision and what it as become is apples and oranges!!

  5. Money is a very important issue in the Bible. How we handle the money God allows us to manage, is very important to God. Why shouldn't it be on the money?

I personally trust God with everything in my life, and most assuredly, my money! In God I Trust!

If it happens, it will be the beginning of the end. God holds on to us tightly, and I pray He never lets go!

  6. I hope that it does not happen, I think we should trust in God for he is all we do have to hold on too in our hearts.

  7. I certainly hope that doesn't happen. This country was founded on religious freedoms. I think we have gone a little to far trying to please everybody

  8. I agree with dora, aren't there more important things going on in the world that we can focus on. Our money has been this way for so long, why is it such a big deal now? I think some people have too much time on their hands.

  9. It's been there so long that I don't notice, so I don't care.  But if it were removed, I wouldn't be angry, and I would applaud the people who cared enough to get it removed.

I continue strenuously object to putting references to God or religion on public buildings or structures paid for with public funds.  The U.S. Constitution explicitly provides for separation of church and state, and I don't want my tax money supporting any religion or religious institution, nor do I want any suggestion that the government supports a particular religion (even mine).  I support my church by putting money on the plate on Sunday.

  10. I received one from my cousin. By all means the "In God We Trust" should be on our American money. God has been taken out of many of our American ways of life. The Pilgrims came to America to worship God. I will always.

  11. Seeing as how I don't trust in God, I think it's appropriate. Since I am not a majority I guess that doesn't make much of a difference. I do believe that if we go to the lengths we do to remove religious influence from our government and schools, we should do the complete job, and not leave it partially completed. I believe that relying on a fictitious being to support us in our causes shows weakness. Additionally I believe that assuming a supreme being (God?) would be influenced by our prayers to help us (rather then our opponents) win a war, a football game or some other contest, is rather egocentric and not a little narcissistic.

  12. Whats the big deal?Isnt seeing "God "on money an oxymoron?

  13. I  would hate to see this happen!

  14. What I'd like to see removed is on the back.    What's with a pyramid ? Are we the United States of Egypt ? It's a masonic thing isn't it ?

  15. Makes me ill.  I hate  political correctness.  What's next?  Abolishing Christmas???

  16. I absolutely oppose removing the phrase from our money!

  17. It wont make any differants the churchs will still take your money.

  18. Leave it as is.

  19. I think time and money should be spent on something more important that that.

  20. In what else would we trust...certainly not politicians or the government.

  21. I love the sign I saw in a little neighborhood carry out,

"In God We Trust. Others Pay Cash "

.but I don't necessarily think our currency is the best -place for religious sentiments

  22. If that be the case then all paid religious need to be removed and everyone work on those days, All oaths of officers need to be changed, me I say leave some thing alone,

  23.     the USA has been built on GOD and I feel we should leave things alone as they are. If a person doesn' t believe that;s too bad. Years ago there were also non believers and we did nothing, now the gov;t wants to bend over backwards for the non believers. The believers never get what they want we always have to do what others want, so i feel if it's going to be a problem leaving it on that we must vote on it although I still believe what was stared many years ago should be left in tact and the non  believers should live with it as they have for all these years.

  24. First off, Blossom, thre U>S> Constitution does not say a word aboutseparationn of church and state. REad it. Second, the first appearance ofseparationn of church and state was in 1659., to the best of my knowledge.  Sorry to correct you. Nomalicee meant.  What dies it hurt to have IN GOD WE TRUST on the money.  Our nation was founded on Christian principals. The reason pilgrims came over here was for religeous freedom. I received an e-mail today about that very thing. I passed it on yo everyone i knew --after i voted.

It would be hard yo remove all of the bible references from the govt bldgs, cuzon the very top of Washingtons monument, there are the words 55 inches tall. [now i cannot remember all of it, but the last word was DEOS and i pelieve the meaning was PRAISE GOD>  I am not COMPLETELY accurate in the meaning, but  I believe it was written in Latin.   Anyhow, A buck is a buck no matter WHAT is written on it.  I apologize for my incomplete answer.-----I hate to see it happen too.
