Wash with light or dark loads?

Is gray a light or dark colored clothing item? Not sure which to wash it with.

if you don't have enough for a "light colors" load, they should go with your whites if they are something you consider nice, they could be washed with darks as long as all jeans are turned inside out.

I wash light grey items, like silver or heather grey, with my whites and the darker more charcoal greys with my darks.
