Washer machine is not registering when it is time for the water to stop......?

Ok so here is the problem...I have a GE washer the machine does not regulate the water to stop filling up, when you put it on small load the machine keeps sending water to fill up and is over flowing but the water is leaking from the bottom (i assume that it is over flowing the tub and going back down out the bottom.....please help!! thanks!

It sounds like you have a sensor issue.  You are going to have to get it looked at.  Is it still under warranty?  Ask how much the repairs are going to be - we had a similar issue and it was more cost effective to get a new washer.
