Washers with multiple rinse-drain cycles?

namely, one that can rinse, drain, and then fill the tub with water again, rinse again, and drain again -- maybe even multiple times. Know some models that can do this?

My Maytag has a button I push when I want an extra rinse.  It says "extra rinse" next to the button.  All but the hand wash cycle has a space for it.

Whirlpool has a model that will rinse 2 times in a cycle.

I thought all washers did this.  Am I missing something here?  Are you from the US?  I thought their machines did this same as European, well, they did when I used them in US.
