Washing baby's clothes?

How old was your baby when you started using regular deterdent to wash his/her clothes?

From the day she was born I used unscented and dye free regular detergent.

I used regular detergent on my babies' clothes from the day they were born. They had no allergic reactions. Every baby is different- just use your own judgment.

If you use tide free (or any other detergent without added perfume or dyes) all the clothes can be washed together.  There is no need to buy special baby detergent.

Right or wrong, we've been using regular detergent from day one. She's fine (4 months old now). I specifically asked our doctor if this was ok before she got here, and our doctor told us that many parents are apprehensive due to allergies to detergents, but that it's not a "must" to use special detergent for babies.

my son is 16 months and I still use detergent that's free of fragrances. My son has very sensitive skin and I want to be sure not to irritate it.

i'm waitin till 1 yr...dunno why. but if you want to start sooner, test 1 or 2 items in the reg wash and see if they have a reaction to it.

around a year maybe when their skin isn't so sensitive

but test it and see how your baby reacts!

i still use nonsmelling detergent and just use smelly drier sheets

I never did use baby detergent ... I always just used Tide, or Sunlight ... the same that I use for the whole family!!!

Technically, you don't have to use baby detergent as long as the detergent you use is free from perfumes and dyes.  A lot of people think it is just marketing.  However, I used baby detergent for my daughter and stopped when she was a year old.  Plus, I like the way it smells.  I have a 2 month old and I am using baby detergent with him as well.
