Washing dress pants that should be dry cleaned?

My husband has some dress pants that are dry clean only. The question is... Is there any way I can clean them at home without taking them to the cleaners? (The cleaners are closed for the holiday weekend). I would appreciate your help in this matter.

  1. Hand wash  in the shower using low pressure and steam

put in dryer on  fluff check every 5 minutes hang up when almost dry

  2. My husband tried washing his dry clean only pants. They ended up looking very funny, puckered and didn't fit right after. You can try freshening them in a steamy bathroom, and then putting them in a breezy place to air out, but I wouldn't put them in the washer or the dryer either.

  3. There is usually a good reason why clothes are labeled "dry clean only".  While it is often possible to wash those items, another solution might be to give one of the home dry cleaning kits a try.  Go to this website for more info:  http://home.howstuffworks.com/home-dry-c...
