  1. I'd prewash them in Simple Green and then wash them in your usual detergent and fabric softener.

  2. I would use a little bit of Dawn dishsoap it is a nutural grease fighter

  3. You can use a cup of plain white vinegar along with the washing powder.  That will help cut the grease and will deodorize, too.

  4. ~~I would pour at least a cup of white vinegar right on the load prior to starting the machine. If that doesn't completely remove the smell then add another cup. It won't hurt anything, but sure takes odors out. It will also soften your clothes as well as it's good for the machine. There will not be a trace of vinegar smell either!

  5. Sometimes you will have to rinse them first before you wash and also use extra detergent before washing(hot water) and wash them twice. But it may be so bad that it can ruin your washer.  Does his company offer uniform service?  If so, you may want to get them washed that way.  It will be about $20 per month in most places.  It will be better than having to buy a new washer.

  6. Hand wash it.

  7. Try soaking your hubby's clothes in white vinegar for and hour and then washing it the usual way.

  8. use 2 cups of vinegar in your wash load when washing his clothing.

  9. Dont use Softener for a start.....Add some vinegar or some inwash stain remover.....In Australia we have Napisan i use that...

  10. Wash them in LESTOIL..........it will cut the grease and remove the smell....

  11. Color Bleach

  12. Soak in Murphy's Oil Soap for a few of hours before washing or Dawn dish soap...don't wash in the same water....maybe check with a local laundry service that operates for car dealers, etc...they have special cleaners and soaps to get out really tough greasy, stains and odors.

  13. My bf is a desiel mechanic so I sympathize. Soak them first, use color safe bleach as well. The best detergent would be Arm and Hammer bc of the baking soda or the Tide Pure Essentials with Baking Soda. Use fabric sheets instead of liquid.

  14. Era is wonderful for greasy work clothes. A cup of vinegar will help with the smell.

  15. Get his highpowered spray washer, and hose him off before he walks in the door. Tee-Hee

No not really, I'd use a washing SODA, laundry soap booster, along with Tide with Febree. Wash in cold water.
