Washing kids mouths out with soap?

my son has recently picked up a bad habit of swearing, i just got back into town and my father has been staying with my kids. anyway my dad cant stand potty-mouths, and whenever he heard my son swear he washed his mouth out with soap, he says it helps, but i know it didnt for me, so im just curious if it worked for anyone else or if i should try to persuade him to a different form of discipline. if i hear it i ask him to stop, and if he doesnt i might pop his mouth. thank you.

do it all the time, but it has to be done right. have 3 sons, if they curse they get soap, heres how, i take send him to his room and have him strip naked, then i take him to the bthrm, bring in a chair ,lather up the soap and put it in his mouth. make him sit w ithe soap for 10 min. i return, have him stick the bar into water, and rub it over his toung 3 times. back to his bdrm where he gets a bare assed spanking with the belt that works
