Question:

Washing machine builds up cold water in drum even when switched off?

Hi

Can anyone help?

My (new) waching machine works, but fills up with water in the drum (even when everything is meticulously switched off in full).

We have had a minor flood when a neighbour spotted it, and similar when we opened a supposedly empty drum for a new wash and water came cascading out ...

We wondered what the symptom might be?

Any pearls of wisdom?

Thanks

Stuart

  1. the inlet connection at the back of the washing machine isnt closing  its open all the time so water is always entering the washing machine we had the same problem we ended up sending it back to the shop and had it exchanged for a new one

  2. The cold fill valve is not closing off properly and will need to be replaced

  3. It is likely your water valve.  It is found where your hoses connects to your washer.  Replacing the part is generally just a few dollars  but if it is a new machine, it should be under warranty.
