I would like to move my washing machine about 3 metres from where it is I have a hot supply pipe coming through the wall from kitchen and I also have a cold supply on a turn off/on tap in the room is there a simple way to make the pipes longer as i have only seen 2.5 metre supply pipes. If not which parts do i need to extend them. Tanks in advance am hoping to do it today so a quick reply would be useful. ;-)

  1. the easiest way is go to home depot get a hot and cold water supply line to fit your machine and pipe you did not say if you have a shut off valve for each line or not (not sure what you mean by tap) if you mean faucet you will need to bring aerator to size hose you need you might have to get some adapters if you do not have shut off valves changing the pipe can be done but you really need to have done former plumbing work to go there.if you know the size pipe you need you can get help on how to fit it depending if it is copper or galvanized if this question was 8 min ago I doubt if you will be getting this done today cause it is 2am here by me

  2. If you go to a plumbers merchants or B+Q you can buy hoses and connectors to extend your current installation.Simply join extra hoses onto your existing ones until you have the right length. Best of luck.

  3. We have out washing machine in our outhouse which only has a cold water supply. My husband moved the machine slightly further from the sink than the hose would stretch but got extension hose's from a DIY store. They come in the red and blue colours for the hot and cold pipes.
