  1. Try doing it all again, perhaps on a different wash cycle to see. If its no good and still does the same perhaps time to get engineer out. How long have you had the machine, because some get quite a long warranty. Especially if its a decent make like Hotpoint.

Time to buy a new machine by the looks of it.

  2. same thing happned to me a few years ago. i had to go out and get a new washer. so u might want to get a new one because if you dont and your washer still does not work u are gonna have trouble getting the water out and stuff and it may cost more to fix it. when u could just buy a new one

  3. Can you see the drum rotating when on wash or spin, If the motor is making a noise on wash or spin, take the back off (assuming F/Loader) and see if the drive belt is broken, If the motor doesn't run get a S/H one or some brushes put in the old one. Has the machine pumped the water out of the drum?as the machine could have a pump attached to the main motor for this purpose or it could be a separate unit, the former could indicate motor problem.

  4. You probably need a new one, but if you call an appliance repair man and tell them the problem, thye may know what it is and quote you a price.

  5. If the washing machine is ancient then chances are it's come to its working life.

  6. Am NOT  an engineer, but sounds as if the 'belt' has either broken of come off the rotor - yes you need an engineer to 'fix' it.

  7. It sounds as if you might need a new belt. If you have a friend who is mechanically inclined ask a huge favor of them and see if you can get them to have a look at your machine. If it is the belt, get the model number off your machine and go and buy a new belt from an appliance shop then have your mechanical friend put it on for you.

If that doesn't work and you can't afford to purchase a new machine, post an ad on the Freecycle for your area asking for some generous person to give you a good used machine they may have sitting around in their garage.

  8. first if there is powder on them that means they didn't wash. if you can try advanceing the timer k**b one click at a time (pull it out turn one click push it in to start) if the machine make noise like it is trying to start but dosen't it is probably terminal. If it starts and runs or does nothing it is most likly the timing mech. and that will cost approx $115-135 ish to fix

if the machine is more that 8 yo I would not bother fixing it most machines today won't make it past 12 years

  9. it happens sometimes... just try to move the spinner in te middle around.
