So I just bought this washer and dryer used. I got them both all hooked up. Did one load in the washer and it worked fine. Now it wont fill up with water? Its making a quiet buzzing sound whenever I pull the k**b out? WTF is going on here?

  1. I'm assuming you've already checked to be sure the water supply valves are both full on.

First check the hoses.  Many will have a fine strainer in both ends.  Some will have a fine strainer in the machine where the  hose connects.  They plug easily.  I usually replace mine once per year.

Next try manually advancing the timer.  Some timers "lose a cog".  Also try a different cycle such as a rinse cycle.  If the washer fills, then you have a timer problem.  Just take the make and model number to an appliance parts store and get a timer.  They're not hard to replace.

If it's not the timer, about the only other thing could be the fill valve.  These too can be easily bought and replaced.  Lift the top of the machine and look inside.  You'll find a plastic device with four hoses and several wires connected to it .  Unplug the machine, use a marking pen to ID which hose goes to which fitting on the valve.   Also mark which wire goes to which connection.

Remove the whole thing and take it to your friendly appliance parts depot and get a replacement.

Save yourself a $100 service call.

  2. Check if the hose filter is plugged, take off the hose and run it in the sink or bucket.

If that doesn't work check the solenoid.

  3. Check the hose or the valve to see if possibly is not turned on
