Hi all. As said in the title, it wont drain in the regular outlet, but if I put the drain hose into the sink, it is fine....If the outlet was blocked, surely it would back flow and flood the kitchen floor?...

Thanks in advance for any answers...

  1. Yes but are the sink and reg. drain the same height?

  2. Yes, if the machine does pump in to the sink, but not the regular outlet then this would indicate a kink in the hose. The outlet from the machine should be at least the height of the machine or above for the pump to work efficiently. The drain hose from the machine fits into a plastic outlet pipe, right?, check that that, pipe is not blocked preventing the water reaching the drain.

  3. Your laundry drain is plugged BEFORE it reaches your kitchen, most likely in the trap or a turn to reach the main line.  It'll either be lint or a sock or something of the sort. call a plumber, don't use draino or anything it's bad for your pipes. Depending if the laundry drains at all you can you use a drain king, which you can get at home depot it attaches to a hose and shoots out high pressures of water while blocking the way back up so it doesn't flood the place. ONLY USE THIS IF IT ISN'T DRAINING AT ALL.

  4. The outlet might not be blocked, but as you are pushing the washing machine back into place, you might be kinking the hose!! If the outlet pipe is blocked the water will not necessarily flow back, but just stop the machine from pumping the water out!! look at both of these options and i'm sure it will cure the problem. Good luck!
