I was trying to put on a new dryer duct tubing ,and the washer got unplugged by accident and now it won't work. Is there a reset button or anything? Any clue how to make it work? It's a Maytag(an older one.) if that helps any. Thanks for any help!

  1. Older Maytags have a out balance switch in the lid and top, when you moved the washer you tripped this switch, if opening the lid and closing it does not help UNPLUG and look inside control panel at top for switch knocked out of place.

  2. You haven't given enough clues to solve the problem.

Simply unplugging the washer won't cause it to not work.

    Here are a few suggestions:

Is the plug in the wall socket properly? Did you check the GFI? Push it and see if that is the problem. If that isn't your answer, try to flip the circuit breaker. Is the door shut tight? Reprogram your cycles choices.

Hope something I suggested helps you.

  3. No reset that I'm aware of

Plug a lamp into the outlet to see if the breaker tripped, if the lamp lights, you have power to the outlet.  Plug in the washer, close the lid and rotate the timer.  If nothing happens you may have damaged the cord/plug end.  The only thing to do is replace it
