I just posted a question about my washing machine. I was trying to fix my dryer duct tubing, and my washer came unplugged by accident. They said to test plugging a lamp into the outlet to make sure the outlet is fine, the lamp worked just fine. So,people were saying that the power cord might have been damaged. what can make it blow and damage it? How can I fix it? Thanks all who answer.

  1. Is the washer’s door fully closed?  There is a safety switch that needs to be closed for the washer to operate.

  2. Older maytag washer is the lid switch problem not the service cord!

  3. You mention that it was unplugged by accident. Was this by side force? Then the plug might have been damaged (internal conncetion). You can replace the plug with a new one from a hardware store. good luck.
