Washing takes ages?

I have a washer dryer hoover w110 and the normal cycle 40 wash takes over 2hrs.i read on internet that it may be water pressure have tried another 40 delicates wash and thats the same.why is it taking so long?any help appreciated.

Washer Dryers are a compromise between washing and drying. That is, they are not as efficient as separate machines.

If your machine hasn't got a rapid wash or eco wash option then you are stuck with it. I imagine because of the slightly reduced washing efficiency the maker has extended the washing time to achieve an acceptable result.

Washer/Dryers will take longer to complete the cycle. My washing machine can take nearly an hour depending on which cycle I choose.

Yours will then have the dryer part to run through so I would not be surprised at it taking 2 hours.

Have it checked out by an expert but that will cost.

It may be a good idea to get your washer serviced, it definatley should not take that long.

I have a hotpoint. At 40 my washing machine takes 1 hour and 50 minutes. My water pressure is fine. So i think its normal!

I usually put my washing machine on before i go to bed. It does the job. In the morning depending on the weather i either hang them out or put them in the dryer.

If this is for washing and drying it is in fact quick but if for washing only seems extremely long. Have you checked it is not just a 'cold fill'.  I have a home in Mallorca and the washing machines over there are mostly cold fill and for a 40 degree wash for coloureds it takes 70 mins.  If the machine is relatively new and under guarantee you should really get on to the manufactureres.  Incidentally, I have a problem with water pressure too but it doesn't effect my washing machine.
