Washington Capitals Superstar Alex Ovechkin teams up with Ice Hockey equipment company Bauer
Washington Capitals superstar and captain, Alex Ovechkin, has made history with his performances entering into the league only six seasons ago and not a day goes by where the Russian shooter does not impress a crowd in front of him.
The former first overall pick during round-one of the 2004 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft might not have had the best season of his career previously but he certainly plans on changing that now.
Blaming his inconsistency on the sports equipment he was using last season, CCM, Ovechkin has found a new partnership with ice hockey sports equipment company, Bauer, because of the perfect fit of its sticks to him. No saying that there was anything wrong
with CCM, Bauer is just more a prime choice for his style of play.
"I think CCM treated me well. They helped me a lot", Ovechkin said. "Without their project I couldn't have scored 65 goals. In this kind of situation now, Bauer is a company who I look forward to work with. I play with this stick a couple of years ago and
I like it. My first thing in this summer was to go to Bauer and work with them".
Seeing Ovechkin happy and confident is in the best interests of the club as expressed by Washington Capitals owner, Ted Leonsis. Being a team that has been ending the regular season on top of the Eastern Conference, only to see a quick exit from the postseason
is certainly something their hoping on improving next time around.
"I'm happy to be back. It was a long summer. I'm happy to be with Bauer. It is a good day for me. I hope everybody will enjoy it, and my results and the team results will be better this year than last year", Ovechkin said.
Not forgetting the community, Ovechkin has teamed up with Bauer president and CEO, Kevin Davis, to give back to the people that make their businesses count the most. More than a 100 sets of youth hockey equipment will be given to various organisations in
the USA and Russia.
