I don't know if it's just me, or what...

every time I go visit another state, I feel like I am in a whole different country. This summer so far, I been to Nevada, New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, and in each state, I didn't feel "home".

California is my home, and there is no way I will ever live in another state :)

  1. Greetings!  The other people answered your question.  Washington, DC was deliberately set up as an independent city, not to be affiliated with a state.  The rationale was that no single state could declare itself as "the nation's Capitol".

    I'm glad you have done a lot of traveling.  I, too, enjoy California as my home, but I deeply love to travel to other states to see experience their unique culture and see for myself what special feature of an area makes it stand out;

    i.e., the Rose Garden and Mount Hood for Portland, OR, or the German culture of Fredericksburg, TX, or Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico or the carnival atmosphere of Las Vegas, NV.

    It's good to enjoy your home, but do remember that there are many joys in each American State.  It doesn't have to be "home", for you, but it is home for others, who equally feel proud of their culture and heritage.

    Hope this helps.  Take care.
