Washington Nationals, Dan Haren deal now official – MLB Update
Some say Dan Haren joined the right team when he signed with the Washington Nationals this offseason. An official statement from the Nationals’ has made this signing official as well. He passed a physical and earned a spot in the Nationals starting rotation.
Haren’s arrival in the Nationals’ fully supports many experts’ predictions that Washington’s big team will be a great threat for other leading MLB teams. He will probably be giving the Nationals a powerful offence which might lead them into the final stages
of the Major League Baseball season.
Last year, though Nationals also played well with limited thrust on the mound however, now with the inclusion of Haren, the Nationals will do much better and will try to achieve more consistent results.
“To get a pitcher of Dan Haren’s caliber, we feel fortunate that we could land him, It says a lot about where we’ve come as a franchise. Dan had his choice of a lot of organizations to be with,” He’s one of the most accomplished pitchers in the past couple
years, His credentials are impeccable,” General Manager Mike Rizzo said.
Later Haren said and explained his new beginning with the Nationals, “If the Nationals were competitive with what other teams were offering, the Nationals were the best fit for me, When the Nationals showed interest, I was really zeroed in on them.”
Before signing with the Nationals, the nine-year Major League veteran, Dan Haren was linked with Los Angeles Angels. Haren last played for the Angels’ in the recent past Major League Baseball season and reports were kept coming that he will signed again
with the Angels. However, not only he did not sign with the Angels, but he also made comments in the media and denied all kinds of speculations.
On the other hand, the Nationals offered him a lucrative offer which he accepted and started his potential new beginning with them. Haren is highly talented individual and possesses career 3.66 ERA along with 119-97 win-loss, 1585 strikeouts and 1.18 WHIP.
Last year, playing with the Angels, he went achieving 4.33 ERA along with 12-13 win-loss, 142 strikeouts and 1.29 WHIP.
