Washington Nationals’ Adam LaRoche reaches landmark 32 home runs in the season - MLB Update
Adam LaRoche is about to surpass his best record which he registered back in 2006 by striking his 32nd home-run of the season the other day. He has been the most reliable batter for the Washington Nationals in the season.
The fact a number of games have yet to be played by him explains that he can keep slamming home-runs and strengthen his record as a result.
In the crucial games down in the post-season, his contributions will be more important. It is in those matches where his stand out shows at the plate will matter the most.
Although the Nationals host the likes of Ryan Zimmerman and Michael Morse, his presence holds a peculiar significance for the team. A galaxy of home-runs he is capable of striking in the middle of the innings awards him a distinct place among the hitters
in the Nationals.
LaRoche lifted the Nationals when injuries to players deprived them of formidable hitters in their line-up. In some occasions with most of their batters absent from the team, he led the team to significant wins with his powerful home-run hitting.
Adam states that he had a humble beginning of the season before he found his feet right at the plate and was in a position to smash big hits. He was apprehensive initially of whether he is at the top of his form or not as only later on in the season he came
to the conclusion that he is in the groove.
“It took a little while form the start of the season to realize, okay, I’m back to pretty close to 100 percent,” LaRoche said. “Which is night and day from where I was last year.”
LaRoche’s penchant for striking is as intense as it was ever which means he will be trying to keep his momentum afloat and deliver offensive splendours.
“It’s been a few years ago since I got to 32,” LaRoche said. “Nice to be able to bounce back even at 32 years old and still be able to do that. So yeah, it’s nice.”
Nationals will be making sure every issue which can hurt their chances in the season is addressed before hand.
The fans will be expecting more offensive fireworks from LaRoche in the days to come.
