Washington Nationals’ Bryce Harper to improve sharply in 2013 regular season - MLB Update
Outfielder for Washington Nationals, Bryce Harper, is expected to achieve far more than what he did during his maiden Major League expedition.
On more than one occasion, he showed something that proved his credentials to become a legend one day.
On a negative note, Harper experienced a decline for some games in the last season.
As per the evaluation of the Nationals' manager, Davey Johnson, it happened because Harper could not deal with his temperament appropriately.
Instead of thinking calmly and detecting the reason behind his failures at the plate, he was being impatient.
That increased the duration of his slump during the last season. Had he showed a bit maturity, he would have escaped it much earlier and started producing remarkable performances.
Fortunately, Harper will enter the next season as being more experienced and the one that have come through all the twists of Major League before.
It means that he is least likely to go through those rough outings again that he faced in the 2012 season.
When the fact that he can be exceptional while being at the top of his form is considered, it is nearly for sure that he will have an immensely improved 2013 season.
Johnson is of the view that Harper boasts characteristics of a big player. He has further stated that he always dealt with matters rationally and stayed away from controversies.
"I followed him a little bit since he was 14 or 15, and he's always been up to the task of competing with older, stronger [players]," Davey Johnson said. "And he's always handled himself really good. I mean, he had a few blips on the screen this year, but
I think, by and large, he got to gain the respect of not only the opposing players but even the umpires in the league."
Johnson has spoken highly about Harper time-and-again. Even before he made his Major League debut, he was of the opinion that he is a baseball star in the making.
While Harper won the Rookie of the Year Award from the National League in 2012, his talent requires more to come off from him.
For the same reason, the 2013 season can see him achieve heights of success.
