Washington Nationals to say good bye to unforgettable year 2012-MLB Update
Washington Nationals are on the verge of completing their outstanding year 2012. Indeed, they experienced the best season of their history during this year.
Right from day one of the last season, the Nationals were exceptional.
It was surprising for the fans and the whole baseball world that a team, which was mediocre a couple of years ago, was being nearly invincible.
The Nationals defeated those oppositions that they could not ever think of challenging before.
The Philadelphia Phillies, which ruled the National League East Division for the last five years before 2012, was trounced by the Nationals time-and-again during the last season.
The year 2012 has spelled a new beginning for the Nationals. It has started their journey toward winning the World Series within the next few seasons.
For example, the club sees young players with amazing credentials emerge. Their old hands are leading the team to wins singlehandedly.
Undoubtedly, they have best talent of the game present on their roster at the moment.
The emergence of stars such as Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg is a great sign for the future development of the club.
It seems the legends are in the making in their ranks. It appears that 2012 has opened a new chapter in the history of baseball by introducing the Nationals as a new force on the horizon.
Manager of the club, Davey Johnson, is mindful of the milestones achieved by Washington during the year 2012.
He is looking forward to continue with the success in the upcoming season.
"Last year, for a young ball club, a lot of guys didn't know who they were or played to their potential," Johnson said. "I thought the one drawback we had was the experience of being in big games. Some of our young guys didn't handle that big-game situation.
But they did so much and went so far, I feel we're prepared to handle any kind of situation anyone throws at us."
Only concern that Johnson has is the inexperience of some of the players of the team to absorb pressure in the high profile games.
All in all, Johnson is fairly pleased with the incredible rise of the Nationals in 2012.
The Nationals will be looking to take positives from the 2012 season and enter the new-year with renewed passion to succeed.
