Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III back to practice field – NFL News
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III participated in practice session on Wednesday.
Griffin sprained his LCL in right knee in Week 14 game against Baltimore Ravens, and while recovering from it he missed last game against Cleveland Browns.
According to the Associated Press, Griffin is hoping to return for next game against Philadelphia Eagles. He performed well during practice and is hopeful of getting clearance from the doctors before the game.
The rookie quarterback said:
"I'm ready to play whenever they want me to play. So if it's this week, next week, next couple of weeks. Whatever they say goes, so I'll be ready."
Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan will take decision about the availability of Griffin for the next game after getting his final reports from the doctors.
Talking about Griffin’s return in the game, Shanahan said:
"Hopefully, they'll look at it tomorrow and tell us it is full-go."
According to Griffin, his relationship with the coach has not stiffened after the decision to replace him with Kirk Cousins at starting position.
RG3 was upset because of missing his first game of the season, but he did not want to undermine his team with his emotions.
He said:
"You don't take those things to the field and try to become a cancer or a distraction to the team,"
He added:
"You support the team. You can be unhappy about something, but you've still got to learn, and that's what I did. I was upset, but I never let that show on the field and just watched and was able to see it from a different perspective."
Cousins was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 National Football League (NFL) draft. He completed 26 of 37 passes for 329 yards and two touchdowns with an interception during Week 15 game against Cleveland Browns.
Redskins are contending for a playoff spot and they must win their next to further strengthen their position in National Football Conference (NFC) East. In such a tough situation, it is a good development for them to have RG3 back.
