Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III to vote for running back Alfred Morris – NFL News
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will vote for running back Alfred Morris for the National Football League (NFL) Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Griffin shared his views related to different rookies in an interview on a Radio programme on Wednesday.
According to him, he does not want to vote for himself as he is not a proud person.
Talking about Alfred Morris, he said:
"My vote would go to Alfred Morris, because I wouldn't vote for myself. I think that's extremely conceited and I'm not that person, so I'd vote for Alfred Morris. He's my running back, he's had a very quiet but very great season for a running back, and I'm
proud to have him on this team."
Morris has 208 rushing attempts for 982 yards and scored six touchdowns. He was nominated for the Rookie of the Week title twice, in Week 3 and 7.
Griffin has been performing really well from the beginning of the season, with passer rating of 105 he is leading among the rookie quarterbacks.
He has scored 16 touchdowns and completed 205 of 304 passes for 2,497 yards with four interceptions. His quarterback rating is 72.
According to him, during his college days he was compared with Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor. Now in the NFL, he is being compared with Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.
Colts had the worst season last year; they ended it at 2-14. But Luck has changed everything and now Colts are 7-4.
Luck has completed 255 of 449 passes for 3,205 yards and scored 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions with quarterback rating of 75.
RG3 praised Luck’s performance and said:
"Coming into the pros, it's going to be me and Andrew Luck. I don't ever root against quarterbacks, and I want him to have a great career as well. If they are going to continue to compare us, hopefully we are the best comparison of all time,"
Redskins are going to play next game against the leaders of National Football Conference (NFC) East New York Giants, on Monday.
